You missed a few points

That wasn't a bad tutorial, but it wasn't fantasic either. Unfortunatly, it doesn't cover all the steps. For example, how would a flash "noob" know how to convert the circle into a symbol and button? You just got to the menu like magic. Yes, maybe you can do this with ease, but sometimes you need explain it as if the user had just installed Flash. Otherwise they'll get confused and unhappy.
The next thing you need to do is include real screenshots. Just a drawn version of what it looks like isn't really best. When the real UI looks different to your drawings, people might think they're in the wrong place.
Also, in your movie, could you put some music that isn't so large in filesize? Tutorials don't really need music, but it's fine if it's not invasive.
Can you make clicking the music button toggle the music on and off instead of needing to hold the button down? Also please prevent the music overlapping itself when interacting with the on switch.
Also, how about teaching us how to stop music if it's playing? I think it would be easy to put in some action script like on(release) stopallsounds;() equiped to the button to do so, but I'm not sure myself.
Like I said, not bad, but needs some work to achieve full potential.

It's a nice game, but not exactly of Newgrounds quality. It's a good puzzle, but no something users will come back to. Try to make a longer and more interesting puzzle.

We know that the game is essentially dead after somebody figures it out. It's actually designed around the idea. But at the same time, some people will take days or weeks. I know they will, I've seen it happen many times.
It's also the kind of game that people like to show to their friends. It's the same idea that http://www.peteranswers.com/ has.

All in all, we fully know that there is little to no replayability in the game. It's just the nature of it.

The game isn't very interesting. Making your own trees makes them look pathetic. You could do a bit more, a varible of ornimetns would be nice. Good idea about changing the background colour to whatever your heart desires. When you choose to delete the entire canvas though, if you click once and the Are You Sure? message and Definate? message comes up, you can't get rid of them. So another accidental click and your work of art is down the toilet. Overall, not too interesting.

Quite fun, needs a bit of improvment

Addicting. But one thing I don't like. How your mouse not only shoots but moves you as well. I would be shooting a ghost and I would move into it, thus lowering my health. Another thing that needs improvment is that when you get deep into the game, 25,000 points of so, some of the easy light grey ghosts are invincible. I shoot them but they don't die. They run into me and then die. Lowering my health by about 10.
I thank you for putting health stars and allowing to exceed 100 HP. usful it is. More powerups would make it more fun. Blue Star, rarer and heals 20 HP is one. Mega Snowball, kills an enemy instantly. They're a few ideas.
I'm am currently first in the highscore list. Too bad YoungLuke A.K.A Luke Bitches. :P

hehe sorry u were playing as i was updating and caught the bad swf entry, when i changed the ghosts a problem happened making some not die by snowballs if there getting hit by ur tank at the same time, but i fixed it and submited it like 10sec later, u must have started when i did this lol very bad timing. your next time playing should be bug free...i hope :) lol the trick to the mouse is aiming but still being on the tank if u wanna stay in place. having the mouse away from the tank will not making longer shots.
as for the pop ups, i was thinking about adding more stuff but i had a deadline for the contest and little time as it is cuz of my final exams. so i submited it now and will just add to this swf. (im not the type to make 5 entrys of minor add-ons) so ill leave all the updates on this one.

Another Great Version

Hi Luckylolly! It's me, Mushman. I'm back with some more help!
OK, it's late at night and I'm suposed to be in bed. but yet here I am. I see you've uped the graphics. Good to see. Now, I didn't beat the game (only level 6) so I can't give you the ending stats. but it was something like 15 deaths and 7 minutes 30 seconds.
Nice pause feature! Now, what can be improved. An easy mode and stuff would still be good. Like we discussed last time. Easy - Portal is safe and sucks critters. Normal - Portal isn't safe and doesn't suck critters. Hard - Fan death is back in the game.
Maybe a bonus level for players good enough to beat the game in, let's say 10 minutes. You've still got that skill and using it.
And another idea. Slides or slopes. Blow a critter into a slope and watch him slide to the bottom. Also, moving screen. Allows you to make bigger levels and takes the pain of getting a critter "stuck" at the bottom.
And finally, level editor. Great for those (like me) who want an extra challenge.
That's all. And I see you named it your "clever" way. V0.39 instead of V0.4. Keep 'em coming!

If I sorted the coding properly, those difficulty levels shouldn't be too much extra work to put in. I do really hate coding though.

10 minutes really isn't great. I can complete it in under 3. But the idea of bonus levels is definitely one I'd like to add before v1.0. Good suggestion.

Maybe I can have a few bonus levels for getting a certain time, then after that, a set of extra bonus levels if you haven't lost a life yet.

I'll try and apportion points to stuff so folk can have a high score list when this is finished.

I definitely like the idea of changing the terrain. I was thinking of having gusts of wind, but I don't know if I'll be able to draw recognisable fans from exactly side-on.

Larger levels - not too keen on that. I like the fact that when I start these levels, I can see the whole thing.

I didn't realise that getting them 'stuck' on the bottom/top was actually a problem for folk. I actually added horizontal borders, but took them out. I'll put them back in.

Level editor - would be good, but don't expect me to make it. Sorry - it's just too hard for me to code that. I don't know if I could do it.

Sad you preferred the previous 2 versions - not as good level design in your opinion? (can't think of any other reason) - but glad you enjoyed it.

Very amatur

Your game was done very badly. It was badly coded, the enemy graphics were appauling, the sound was poorly chosen, the SFX were boring, the whole game needs attention. With platforms like the ones where are in the wall shouldn't stop you from jumping when under them. The jumping needs to be higher. The enemies need more frames, the score isn't important so remove it, need more health boxes, include extra life and acctully let him shoot. That'll be a good start. Oh, and don't bring the fact I haven't done any Flash into the matter. I don't make flash, I blam it.

Bad controls

OK, I'm an official member of the LD (Free Lunch Design) forum. I'm gonna make a topic on your very game! I want the people of FLD to see what you have done. Well done.
The one thing I hate about your version of IT (Icy Tower) is the contros. When i say left as I jump right I MEAN LEFT! NOT IN ONE SECOND! Sorry. Hard is annoying because the floor disappears too quickly. The combos (style) are difficult because it won't let me go the way i want to go. The Speed mode is alright but too difficult controls. Endurance is as close as the original IT as you can get. And when lose make it remember your name and allow you to press Space to advance to the next screen. And remember, fix the controls and I'll like the game a lot more.
I also want you to become a member on the forum. I'm proud that you like IT enough to make a Flash version of it. The comunity of FLD would welcome you I'm sure. You'll know me as Mush Man. And PM me when you become a member thee. Quick link to FLD forum (I appologize to the moderators).

Awsome but a bit short

That was really funny. I like the bad endings. Anyway you need to make it longer. If you don't want the file size too big yuo should down grade your sound quality (from like 44,100 MHZ to 21,500 MHZ (or something like that)). You have real potential. Keep it up.

I like Doom and it's cool that yu made this. But it won't get through because there's a bug where after killing the 3 imps, you can't move any further and can't open the door. It's good and you have real potential. It's just this time the game won't pass.

There are only 3 imps and 2 rooms. The second room is entered after the first door. It got to about there when development was unexpectedly halted.
